Over the last few months i’ve started putting together an app for tracking sporting events.
A lot of the ones i’ve used have always lacked in the ability to see what is available on a day. They usually have a horrible list that requires lots of scrolling and it’s especially clear. So I set about trying to improve on the experience.
The app uses a 2 dimensional scrolling calendar with sport up the side and time across the top. If there are multiple events for a sport on at the same time it groups them into a single block which you can click on to filter.
The whole UI is custom and mostly uses CALayers instead of UIViews for performance reasons.
Feedback so far has been quite positive and so i’ve decided to make it free for a day to get a bit of interest going.
